Keren Shiker, a renowned designer, has introduced a groundbreaking piece of furniture that combines comfort, versatility, and elegance. The 'Sink in' is an adjustable seating furniture that offers a unique sitting experience tailored to individual needs and preferences.

The inspiration behind the 'Sink in' design was to create a sitting furniture that would be comfortable and suitable for different people and body shapes, while maintaining clean modern lines and an elegant aesthetic. The 'Sink in' stands out from other seating options due to its unique properties. It is built from two wooden frames filled with sponge units that can be moved back and forth, creating various chair models in different sizes and heights. The realization of the 'Sink in' design involves two wooden frames made of birch wood, measuring 100/70 cm. Inside these frames, 204 hard sponge units, each measuring 70 cm in length and 5 cm in width, are placed. This combination of materials ensures both comfort and durability.

One of the challenges Shiker faced during the design process was finding a material that would be soft enough to provide comfort, yet strong enough to support the weight of the user. The use of sponge units and sturdy wooden frames successfully addressed this challenge.

The 'Sink in' project began in January 2015 in Israel, where Shiker's innovative design came to life. Since its introduction, the 'Sink in' has received widespread recognition and acclaim. In 2016, it was awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category.
